Honeybush is akin to Rooibos and also cultivated in South Africa, but is a bit sweeter and more robust than its cousin. The sweetly scented yellow blossoms of the bush smell like honey, hence the name. Honeybush tastes quite similar to black tea but without any astringency. Not to mention it's low in tannin and has no caffeine, making it a great decaf option for black tea lovers. Tea made from Camellia Sinensis can become harsh if left to steep too long, but Honeybush differs in that it can be steeped over long periods of time without turning bitter. Loaded with antioxidants, minerals, and other essential nutrients, Honeybush is a must have.
